Exciting stuff - and more than a little intimidating.  I'm ready to start doing something more with my photography and have begun exploring the possibilities.  A web presence is one thing I have been meaning to do, so here it is, my inaugural post.  This is very much a work in progress right now, as I figure out how WordPress works and what I want to add to it.

This shot was from a quick trip to the beach yesterday and was very much a learning experience.  One, I've been having some equipment 'failures' recently that have made this type of shot a bit more challenging.  Yesterday, I solved that problem.  (I do hope I'm not being premature in that conclusion.)  Two, high tide is not the best time for this particular location and a rising tide is the worst.  I can't get close enough to the jetty and have to be ready to beat a fast retreat on a moment's notice.  Three, some long exposures are simply too long, at least for my camera.

And now, knowing what I cannot do, I can focus on figuring out what I can do.  Let me know what you think of the blog - my learning curve is steep and new and I'm interested in what works and what does not.  Thanks.
