Photography is wonderful in teaching lessons in patience, flexibility, timing. My plans for sunset the other night did not work out and, being tired, I decided to head back to my hotel earlier than I planned. I am familiar with this location; I had not planned to shoot there. Being early, I decided to stop, at least take a look - and seeing the moon lining up with the smokestack, I stayed, for quite some time. I will have to try this again - I want the long exposure for the steam; I want to figure out how to keep the stars from making trails.
